Subject: Adler Pistons I did replace the pistons with "locally" available parts, but there were complications. The pistons are for Suzuki GT250X7 and have 2 rings only. I purchased two piston kits from Bikes and Bits Importers in Perth. Their Email address is sales@bbimporters.com.au and I suspect that they supply the "trade" only. The chap there is Luke. I bought them through QBR at 5 Leanne Cres, Lawnton - contact Clayton. There are 2 problems: the overall length of the piston is about 5mm shorter than the original pistons in the Adler The result is that the inlet tract is open longer. I suspect that this makes the motor rev out a bit better than original. The compression ratio remains almost the same and the piston ring ends run perfectly in the bore between ports. I used first oversize (+0.25mm) and had the cylinders bored to match the pistons by PLR in Kremzow Road, Strathpine (ph 3205 4167). I was very happy with their work. The second problem is slightly more of a problem. The original pistons have a 15mm gudgeon pin where the Suzuki has 14mm! I had PLR rebush the con rods and ream them to match the gudgeon pins from the piston kits. They did this with the motor completely assembled but without barrels and heads.B&B Importers advise me that there are plenty of stock of these piston kits in oversizes up to 4th (+1.0mm).
